  As gift planners, we not only have to balance the changing dynamics of donor relationships, we also need to be well-versed in the ever-changing tax law. This session will provide a well-rounded overview of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act as it relates to charitable giving. CFRE: Full participation in New Year:, New Tax Law: What's in Store for 2026 is applicable for 1.25 points in Category 1.B -Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

  As we enter 2026, philanthropy faces a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by economic uncertainty, shifting donor expectations, and technological disruption. This session will explore the key trends influencing charitable giving, including the historic wealth transfer, the rise of purpose-driven donors, and new tax incentives that encourage strategic generosity. We will also address pressing challenges such as donor fatigue, leadership turnover, and declining government support and discuss how planned giving can serve as a cornerstone for financial stability and long-term impact.   Speaker: Shannon Duval, Enterprise Chief Philanthropy Officer, Advocate Health
  Shannon is a nationally recognized leader in health care philanthropy, bringing nearly three decades of experience in advancing charitable giving and community impact. Before joining Advocate Health, Shannon served as Global Chief Development Officer for Ronald McDonald House Charities, where she led fundraising efforts across more than 60 countries. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at CommonSpirit Health and Catholic Health Initiatives, as well as early work in academic medicine at the University of Iowa Foundation. Shannon is deeply committed to building healthier communities through strategic philanthropy.
