CCPG is pleased to announce an exciting lineup of presenters for its 2022-2023 Season. This year’s Bi-Monthly Programs will be hosted in a hybrid format, so you have the option to attend virtually or in-person. In-person programs will be hosted at a new venue—the University of Illinois Illini Center, 200 South Wacker Drive. All in-person attendees will also receive a boxed lunch, complimentary with event registration.

    Planning for Philanthropy When Divorce is Imminent
    In this session, we will address key questions and issues charitably-inclined couples should consider as they navigate a pending divorce. You will lean when and how to discuss ongoing philanthropic objectives during marital settlement proceedings and best practices for planning for philanthropy post-divorce.

    Marguerite H. Griffin, Senior Vice President, Northern Trust 
    As Director of Philanthropic Advisory Services, Marguerite is responsible for the delivery and growth of Northern Trust’s philanthropic advisory services to Wealth Management clients. She specializes in administering charitable trusts and private foundations and facilitating family philanthropy retreats. She also advises clients regarding impact investing, strategic philanthropy, international philanthropy, family succession planning and governance and risk management for nonprofit organizations. Marguerite us an active volunteer and board member with several charitable and cultural institutions including, The Poetry Foundation, Shriver Center on Poverty Law and the Chicago Foundation for Women.

    Tim Bresnahan, Senior Director of Gift Planning, The Chicago Community Trust
    Tim is responsible for a broad range of matters including charitable contributions, donor advised funds, supporting organizations, agency endowments and other legal, tax and investment aspects of tax-exempt organizations. Prior to joining the Trust, Tim served as the Associate Director of Philanthropic Advisory Services for Northern Trust. While at Northern Trust, Tim advised individuals and families on philanthropy and wealth planning and managed the Northern Trust Charitable Giving Program. He is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the Chicago Bar Association, the Advancement Network and the Arts Club of Chicago. Tim is a Leadership greater Chicago Fellow and a past President of the Board of Directors for Rivendell Theater Ensemble.



    Using Your CRM to Maximize Planned Giving Efforts: A Discussion on Best Practices
    This session is a panel discussion on CRM best practices by fundraisers focused on planned giving from three non-profit organizations. Presenters will share how elements of their work to maintain a robust pipeline of planned giving donors interfaces with two different CRM’s (Razor’s Edge and Tessitura).

    Lisa Bakker is Director of Planned Giving at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation. She works in partnership with her colleagues to help donors create legacies of hope and healing. Lisa has been involved in Chicago’s fundraising community for 22 years. In those years she has had the pleasure of helping to advance the missions of the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Chicago Botanic Garden. Lisa has been a member of Chicago Council on Planned Giving since 2012 and served as a member of its Board from 2016-2022.
