CCPG Mission
The Chicago Council on Planned Giving is a professional association for development officers and allied professionals in the Chicago area. Our purpose is to educate members and the community about the philanthropic process with a focus on charitable planned giving and various estate planning techniques.
Founded in 1980 by a collective of creative and dedicated fundraising professionals to collaborate and educate one another on best practices, ethics, tax considerations and planning ideas in gift planning, CCPG offers the best training and networking opportunities in the fundraising arena.
At the core of CCPG’s mission are live educational programs, with opportunities to meet and interact with outstanding experts in the planned giving field. The Annual Symposium and bi-monthly luncheon meetings are first-class opportunities to network with fellow professionals while enhancing your planned giving expertise.
The Annual Symposium is a full-day educational event intended to sharpen the skills of all members, whether newcomers to the field or seasoned professionals. Drawing nationally recognized speakers, the Symposium covers a wide range of topics, including the psychology of giving, the financial aspects of giving, and the tax framework. Attendees design their own class schedules by choosing which sessions they would like to attend.
The Nuts & Bolts session is a half-hour program presented before the bi-monthly luncheons and designed for those members who are new to full-time planned giving-or for whom planned giving is only part of their job description. Presented by one or more experts drawn from our membership, this very practical overview covers the hows, whys and whats of planned giving and typically includes real-life examples and case studies.
