Presentation & Speaker Details

Changing Lanes: Anticipating the New Wave of Giving
Were you around in the mid-90s when Microsoft Windows was just announced and using email for new planned giving opportunities was fast moving into our industry? That was an historic change.

We are now in a similar historic time of change!

Planned giving officers were then advised to embrace the new order to better serve their donors with emerging technologies or be left in a cloud of dust. We are now best advised to get on the freeway to the future with AI or be left living in the past.

Don’t wait!  And don’t be distracted by the surface traffic to the onramp of the future. We’ll begin with the surface traffic to avoid—charitable LLCs, the misuse of DAFs, and abusive CRAT schemes that the IRS has designated as “listed transactions”.

Then, it’s full throttle forward as we explore the new technology that has the potential to quickly reshape philanthropy in the coming months and years: AI. Early adopters in charitable gift planning will reap the best rewards. Join us for an engaging ride!

CFRE: Full participation in Changing Lanes: Anticipating the New Wave of Giving is applicable for 1.0 point in Category 1.B -Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

Amina Saeed, Senior Trust Advisor/Senior Vice President, Northern Trust.
Amina is a Senior Vice President in Northern Trust's Wealth Management division, where she administers complex multi-generational trusts and works with clients to design and implement comprehensive estate plans. When she's not at her desk, she loves exploring national parks with her husband and four children. She's been chased by a bison in South Dakota, hiked the Grand Canyon, and enjoyed waterfall rappelling through the Costa Rican rain forest. If you have suggestions for outdoor adventures, Amina would love to hear from you.
