The New Illinois Trust CodeThe new Illinois Trust Code became effective January 1, 2020 and applies to all trusts administered in Illinois. There are significant new rules regarding notices and accountings, among other changes. We will review the new code provisions most relevant to charitable trusts and trust-related charitable gifts.
CFRE: Participants will earn 1 hour of CFRE credit. CCPG is an approved CFRE provider. CFP: Participants will earn 1 hour of CFP credit. CCPG is an approved CFP provider. MCLE: Pending Approval
SPEAKERMelissa H. De Vries, JDHoogendoorn & Talbot LLPA graduate of University of Illinois College of Law, cum laude, Melissa Hoogendoorn De Vries’ practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, special needs planning, elder law, tax planning and preparation, charitable planning and advising charitable organizations. She has drafted many types of trust instruments and has represented donors and charitable organizations in complex gift planning matters. With her clients, Melissa stresses the importance of leaving a legacy and strives to make the planning process as comfortable as possible.
Cost: Free for CCPG Members, $35 for Non-Members
Cancellations/Refunds: Cancellations must be received by 12:00 pm two business days prior to the event in order to receive a full refund. No refunds will be processed after this time. Cancellations must be in writing and may be submitted to cteed@ccpgonline.org. Additionally, payment is expected from no-shows.
