Topic: Best Practices in Planned Giving - A Roundtable Approach
Using a roundtable discussion approach, we will offer best practice pointers on various planned giving topics. Topic examples are “working with professional advisors,” “administering a CGA program,” “securing real estate gifts,” “using storytelling in your work with donors,” “planned giving and capital campaigns,” and several others. Each discussion will be facilitated by a practitioner or advisor who knows the topic well. You will have time to participate in several topic discussions during the session.

Topic: Giving in Chicago – Findings From a First-ever Study of Local Philanthropy
Speakers: Terry Mazany, President & CEO, Chicago Community Trust, and Dr. Una Osili, Director of Research, Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy
Terry and Una will present findings from a first-ever comprehensive study on charitable giving in the Chicago area. Commissioned as part of the Chicago Community Trust’s centennial celebration, this unique study offers insights into Chicago’s individual, corporate and foundation giving patterns and the metro area’s philanthropic environment. This session may be of interest to planned giving and other development professionals, as well as to local nonprofit CEO’s/executive directors and advisors who specialize in charitable planning.
