Donor Advised Funds: Options and Opportunities

Donor advised funds are a rapidly growing and popular charitable giving vehicle because they offer individuals and corporations a unique opportunity to establish a long-term charitable giving strategy while at the same time, play an active role in the giving process. This webinar will provide insights on why non-profit organizations are thinking about donor advised funds, how to position them within a planned giving strategy, as well the options available to charitable organizations to create their own donor advised fund, develop strategic alliances or outsource.

Presenters:

Mary L. Tomanek, CFP, CIMA, is a Senior Vice President, Investments and Institutional Consulting Director with Graystone Consulting. Mary has enjoyed more than 25 years of consulting to institutional clients. Mary is an IMCA Certified Investment Management AnalystSM, a designation for individuals with in-depth management analysis capabilities. She is active in various professional associations including the Resource Center for Religious Institutes, the Association for Professional Investment Consultants, and the Chicago Council on Planned Giving.

Andrew M. Grumet is a Partner at Locke Lord, LLP in New York City.  Andrew concentrates his practice in the representation of domestic and international tax-exempt organizations, charitable giving and philanthropy. He has represented organizations ranging from domestic and international family foundations to public charities, schools, supporting organizations, museums, hospitals, religious organizations, community trusts and donor advised funds, trade associations, social clubs and social welfare organizations.  Andrew is frequently consulted by media outlets with respect to issues affecting nonprofit organizations.  He has appeared in publications such as The Chronicle of Philanthropy, TIME magazine, the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He is also a frequent speaker to various national and local associations regarding trends in philanthropy.
