We seek a Director of Gift Planning at IIT. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive gift planning program to include prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of deferred gifts. As part of this effort, the Director will maintain a portfolio of planned gift prospects and donors. The Director is responsible for training of staff and volunteer leadership and the overall marketing of the program to the designated IIT donor community. The Director will develop and implement a program that will fully integrate with the mission and goals of the Institutional Advancement Department and University with goals of creating a culture of alumni gift planning, increasing planned giving revenue and growing the membership in the Gunsaulus Society.
Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of progressive, successful fundraising experience in major and gift planning programs or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills would be required. This position will be external to our alumni population, volunteer leadership and other friends of the institution and internal to development officers and staff. Ability to work independently and desire to be part of a team is essential.
