    Winston Knolls Foundation is a State of Illinois 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as the philanthropic entity of The Winston Knolls School, the Knolls Center for Autism, and the Winston Knolls Education Group. The Foundation helps families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) understand and access essential education and therapeutic support with ease and efficiency so that children with Autism have every opportunity to achieve their best life.

    This position serves as a major gift fundraiser with corporations, foundations and specialty government funding programs for the Foundation and its supported organizations and programs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work in coordination with the President / CEO and Development Director to support the all programs of the Foundation, especially The Winston Knolls School through grants, corporate gifts, specialty government funding and individual giving.
    • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of prospective donors for major gifts.
    • Assist in the execution of fundraising strategies for annual giving, community appeals, planned giving and event sponsorships.
    • Research and write detailed written proposals and cases to support fundraising and sponsorship projects.
    • Travel as needed in support of gift development, Foundation events and relationship responsibilities. May include occasional evening or weekend.
    • Other duties as assigned by the President / CEO or Development Director.

     Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of two years successful corporate and / or foundation relations or related career experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
    • Ability to handle highly confidential, financial, and personal information
    • Willingness to travel as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree preferred
    • Experience in Universities or other large, complex organizations
    • Progressive experience in fundraising, promotions, volunteer events and grant writing.
